MOLCAJETE SAUCE

Unleashing the Authenticity with this Irresistible Molcajete Sauce Recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 3 Roma tomatoes
  • 1 beefsteak tomato
  • ¼ white onion
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 Anaheim pepper
  • 1 jalapeno pepper
  • 3 serrano pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro

Preparation:

  1. Remove stems from the peppers and the tops from the tomatoes.
  2. Heat a griddle. Place all the peppers, onion, tomatoes and garlic.
  3. Toss the peppers, onion, tomatoes and garlic and continue cooking for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Remove the ingredients from the griddle and set aside. Peel most of the dark skin from the tomatoes and peppers.
  5. In the molcajete add the salt and garlic and grind until it forms a paste.
  6. Add the onion and grind until you get a paste.
  7. Add the peppers one by one, as well as the tomatoes (one by one)
  8. Season with salt to taste. Add chopped cilantro.

This is a great addition to serve your TAMALES!
